Conventional and Future Energy for Automobiles

Fuels and Future Energy Carriers for commercial and individual mobility are one of the most important facts for economy and prosperity. Advanced Fuels and Alternative Energy Carriers are the pillars for a more sustainable mobility.

Nevertheless further optimization of fossil fuel quality can also contribute to lower emissions and support transition towards more sustainable mobility. The fulfilment of the European CO2 reduction targets towards 2050 needs realistic technical solutions including backwards compatible approaches for existing vehicle fleet. An economic and sustainable development towards less greenhouse gas emissions requires a holistic view on base of life cycle assessments for the different mobility approaches.

A synergetic discussion of solutions for future fuels and powertrain technologies is needed to find an economic pathway to a sustainable mobility of tomorrow. The optimum solution for mobility can only be achieved by international cooperation of the engine manufacturers, the mineral oil industry, the energy producer and the legislative bodies.
